The world often tells us that beauty is all about what we look like on the outside. But when we place too much importance on our appearance, it can easily leave us feeling insecure, comparing ourselves with others and believing that we are somehow not good enough.

God sees us very differently. Our value isn't determined by our appearance, our body, our clothes or how closely we match the world's idea of beauty. Our true worth comes from God and from knowing that we belong to Him.

As we grow closer to the Lord and allow Him to work within our hearts, our confidence begins to come from something much deeper than outward appearance. The more we understand who we are in Christ, the less we need the approval of the world to tell us that we are valuable.

True beauty begins within. It is seen in a heart that loves God, in kindness, compassion, humility and the way we treat others. When our hearts are focused on the Lord, His love and character can begin to shine through us.

Rather than spending our lives trying to become beautiful according to the world's standards, we can learn to see ourselves through God's eyes — loved, valued and wonderfully made.
